Perry County Sheriff's Office

Lt. Rosanna Weems

“The wicked will flee, when no man pursueth."
Proverbs 28:1.

Lt. Rosanna WeemsLt. Rosanna Weems began her role in 2016 as administrative assistant to Sheriff Nick Weems.  Over the next few months, she took on numerous tasks and roles in the department, that allowed Sheriff Weems to cut certain positions and give a decent wage to the men and women that serve Perry County. Thanks to her, our officers now make a decent wage, that is competitive with other counties, which means we can attract higher qualified men and women to serve Perry County.

Rosanna got her feet wet in fighting crime, working as a part-time investigator where her work ethics resulted in the prosecution of several child sex abuse cases, burglaries and a $100,000 theft, reclaiming a stolen family heirloom.

PCSO received a fully paid grant in early 2021, to send Rosanna and the next deputy to the police academy. The tuition was zero cost to the taxpayer. Rosanna drove her own personal vehicle and provided her own fuel. She began her journey of a harsh 12 week “military style boot camp” back in July of this year, 2021.

She weathered the storm bravely, pushed through tough times and was able to graduate with her class, three months later. Rosanna is the second female in Perry County history to successfully complete the TN Law Enforcement Training Academy. The class started with 102 cadets and graduated only 69.

After graduating and serving her country for 4 years in the Army at the young age of 19 and now completing this milestone in her law enforcement career, Lt. Weems is an example to other young women who would like a law enforcement career, and Perry County is the beneficiary of those gifts and talents.
