In one more effort to locate missing resident Roseanna Zadakaus, who was last seen March 31, 2021, Perry County Sheriff Nick Weems sent out a community-wide request for help from citizens to search the area around the woman's Cypress Creek Road home since flood waters have receded, and on the main channel of the Tennessee River.
The volunteers assembled at Ramey's Landing on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Sheriff Weems reported late Sunday that the collective attempt was unsuccessful.
The investigation into Zadakaus' disappearance continues, Sheriff Weems said, by a special team he established in his office. Law enforcement is also still waiting on evidence collected at the Zadakaus home that suggested foul play might be involved. If that turns out to be the case, the Sheriff said a substantial reward would likely be offered.
