The Collaborative Response to Elder and Vulnerable Adult Abuse (CREVAA) is a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant funded program in Tennessee, which assists crime victims 60+ and vulnerable adults 18-59.
CREVAA is managed at the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability (TCAD), and partners with the Area Agencies on Aging and Disability (AAADAs), and Human Resource Agencies (HRAs) across the state to provide emergency services and supports to older and vulnerable adult victims of crime in all 95 counties in Tennessee.
It works closely within the community to provide resources to clients and addresses the unmet needs of those who have been the victim of an alleged crime.
Specifically, when a crime victim meets CREVAA program age and/or vulnerability status, he or she may be eligible for specific assistance to address hardships caused by the alleged crime perpetrated against them.
The assistance can vary depending on the circumstances, but generally entails coordination and provision of emergency funding, durable medical equipment, food & clothing, personal care & homemaker services, transportation, crime-related home repairs, and help towards acquiring emergency housing.
CREVAA Program stakeholders include Adult Protective Services (APS), law enforcement (LE), District Attorneys (DA's), and other aging service providers.
These professionals may submit referrals to the CREVAA program on behalf of eligible victims.
The South-Central Area Agency on Aging & Disability CREVAA program serves Perry, Wayne, Hickman, Lewis, Maury, Lawrence, Giles, Marshall, Bedford, Coffee, Moore, Franklin and Lincoln counties.
When someone over the age of 60 (or a vulnerable adult 18-59) in these counties has been the victim of an alleged crime and needs help associated with that alleged crime, he/she might be eiligible for assistance from the area CREVAA program at 101 Sam Watkins Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
