The Perry County Sheriff’s Department is aware of scam phone calls that are taking place in our community where the caller states US Marshalls have discovered your name and information are being used for criminal activity. This is not true, and you should not engage with the callers, simply hang up.
Do not ever share personal information with callers. These robocalls are unfortunately nearly impossible to track or stop, as they fake the numbers that show up on caller id. If you ever have concerns that you’re being targeted by scammers, please call dispatch (911). But to play it safe, assume it's a scam if it doesn't feel right.
